In today's episode of our cooking show, we have a special guest, Lion, who will be cooking up a delicious dish of Chicken in Sour Cream Sauce. Lion is an experienced travelling chef who has worked and travel around the world experiencing almost any kind of flavour and kitchen styles. He will be sharing his recipe and cooking techniques with our audience.

The Chicken in Sour Cream Sauce is a classic dish that is loved by many and comes from Lion's grandma inspiration. The tender, juicy chicken is simmered in a rich and creamy sour cream sauce that is infused with herbs and spices. This dish is perfect for a comforting dinner and can be served with a variety of sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken

  2. 1 cup sour cream

  3. 1 tablespoon butter

  4. 1 large onion, diced

  5. 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  6. 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  7. 1 teaspoon dried basil

  8. Salt and pepper to taste

  9. 1 tablespoon flour

  10. 1 cup chicken broth

  11. 1/2 cup white wine

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. Season the chicken pieces with thyme, basil, salt, and pepper.

  4. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook until they are browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.

  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

  6. In the same skillet, add the flour and stir it into the onion mixture.

  7. Gradually pour in the chicken broth and white wine, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.

  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the chicken.

  9. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the chicken in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

  10. Stir in the sour cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is heated through.

  11. Serve the Chicken in Sour Cream Sauce hot with your choice of sides.

The second dish we will be cooking today is "Toto Raw", a traditional dish from the Yi minority in China. Toto Raw is a unique and flavourful dish that is made using raw ingredients and a special preparation method. The dish is known for its crunchy texture and fresh flavor, making it a popular choice for those who prefer lighter and healthier meals.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pound Napa cabbage, shredded

  2. 1 cup carrots, grated

  3. 1 cup cucumber, sliced

  4. 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  5. 1/2 cup roasted peanuts, chopped

  6. 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  7. 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  8. 1 teaspoon sugar

  9. Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded Napa cabbage, grated carrots, sliced cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, and chopped peanuts.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.

  3. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and mix until the vegetables are well coated.

  4. Let the salad sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.

  5. Serve the Toto Raw chilled and enjoy its crunchy texture and fresh flavour.
