Ordos, the Mysterious Ghost City in China: Our Journey to Uncover the Truth
Have you ever heard of the infamous "ghost city" of Ordos in Inner Mongolia, China? The city, also known as Kangbashi, has been the subject of rumors and speculation for years, with stories of empty streets and abandoned buildings circulating the internet. We decided to embark on a journey to Ordos to see for ourselves and uncover the truth behind these rumors.
The city was built as part of the Ordos 100 project, which aimed to create a new urban center for Inner Mongolia's growing population. Upon our arrival, we were struck by the modern architecture and sprawling infrastructure, but as we explored further, we began to see that many of the buildings were indeed empty and unoccupied.
However, it was not just the empty buildings that made Ordos such a unique and eerie place. The city was also eerily quiet, with very few people on the streets. We quickly realized that the rumors of Ordos being a ghost town were not entirely untrue.
To capture the essence of Ordos, we took to the skies with our drone, capturing incredible aerial footage of the city's towering skyscrapers and sprawling streets. We also had the opportunity to interview some of the locals, who shared with us their experiences of living in Ordos.
Despite its reputation, we discovered that Ordos is not a completely abandoned city. There are still pockets of residents who call it home and are making the best of their circumstances. While the city may not be the bustling metropolis that was once envisioned, it is still a fascinating and unique place with its own stories and characters.
In conclusion, our journey to Ordos was both eye-opening and challenging. We learned that there is much more to this "ghost city" than meets the eye and we hope that our documentation of the city will help to shed light on the real story of Ordos.
